International Learn to Swim Week 2023
In case you haven’t heard, International Learn to Swim Week 2023 is an annual event hosted by STA. It aims to bring the swimming community together as one.
STA explains, “Everyone comes together to celebrate swimming teachers and raise awareness about the importance of learning how to swim and water safety education.”
As you know, swimming plays such a vital role in helping young people both physically and mentally. This is important now more than ever, as many children struggled during the pandemic.
It is vital that the swimming community comes together to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get back into the pool, learn a new life skill, and get water-ready in time to safely enjoy their summer holidays.
By uniting, STA aims to help preserve human life by teaching swimming, lifesaving, and survival techniques.

When does Learn to Swim Week take place?
International Learn to Swim Week 2023 takes place from Tuesday 9th May to Monday 15th May. It happens every year and has seen huge success in the past for the swim clubs and schools that have participated.
Who can join in the fun?
Learn to Swim Week is an inclusive event. Lots of people are able to join in the fun and encourage their students to learn to swim. If you fit into the following categories, you’re able to take part:
- Swimming teachers
- Swim schools
- Swim academies
- School teachers
How can you get involved in International Learn to Swim Week?
