Two communication methods to try with your community members

What is the most effective way to stay in touch with community members?

In these modern times, there are so many ways to stay in touch with community members. Below we’ve highlighted two communication methods, SMS and email. To show you how they can be used to your benefit.

Email

If you are not already sending emails to your members, today is a good time to start. With 92% of online adults using email, you’re missing out if you don’t take advantage of this opportunity.

Although there are other effective forms of community engagement like posting on social media, with email you can deliver content to your members that can be highly personalised to their needs.

Despite email being a great engagement tool, inboxes are more crowded than ever, so complementing what the value is to them in your messaging, with good design, targeted content, and other added features like videos can help cut-through the noise.

With all-in-one management software like LoveAdmin, you can send emails to target groups, demographics and individuals using prebuilt templates or your own unique designs. You can also add attachments, videos, and images to make the emails extra engaging.

Create engagement reports to track the success of these emails to edit and improve future emails. LoveAdmin customer, Chester FC, was able to achieve a 75% engagement rate by sending out group emails to their secure contact database.

It is also possible to add a social banner at the bottom of emails which directs members to your social accounts enabling you to work social and email together to create a well-rounded member experience.

SMS

Did you know that SMS and email marketing go hand in hand?

You can use SMS to deliver shorter, more time sensitive info like general updates and reminders about activities and email to deliver more detailed info like special promotions, interesting content, and news about upcoming events.

With the population being more mobile focused than ever (97% of SMS messages are opened and read within 15 minutes of delivery) you are likely to succeed as long as what you send is relevant.

For example, Burnley FC in the Community managed to achieve 87% average engagement rate on bulk communications to their members using the SMS feature on LoveAdmin. You can even open up two-way conversations with your members by asking them to respond using number codes or keywords.
